Open Water Swimming Season  -  Dolphins impress

Open water season is well underway
Well the open water season is well underway and has again proved popular with our swimmers of all ages and abilities. Many have entered the Great Victorian Swim Series (and not just for the great presentation night), swimming the long or short events (and sometimes both).
A large group competed at the Pier to Pub with some excellent results, and Dorothy Dickey completed her 30th P2P swim.
It would be safe to that we have been well represented at every event so far this season.

Special mention for craziness to Donna Gadsby who competed a solo Bloody Big Swim (11.2km) and Peta Harvey who swam the 10km event at Williamstown the WOW Challenge.

Dolphins Training

Training
Doncaster Dolphins run 3 sessions per week at #Aquarena. After a short holiday, training has commenced for 2016. Recent sessions have been focussing on Open Water Swimming; however we are now commencing preparation for the State Champs, and ultimately Nationals in April.
Saturday morning sessions are followed by a well deserved coffee.

Barbados Adventure by Wendy Simmons

About 18 months ago, upon hearing there would be an Opent Water Swim Festival in Barbados November 2015, I made the decision that life was too short and I was hoping that a couple of people from the club would join me in this venture, but amazingly I was joined by 11 others. So a team of 12 Doncaster Dolphins travelled over to the Caribbean to compete in the Open Water Swim Festival in Carlisile Bay, Barbados. Read the full story here
