Twilight Or Daylight?

22/01/2018

Friday 19 January saw the only twilight swim of the season at Mornington. This a relatively new event at the lovely Mills Beach, and is quite small. It is well run by the very friendly Mornington Life Saving Club, who throw a beach party afterwards. If you haven't tried it, I suggest you do.

Ros McLean and Rohan Fanning were 1st in their age groups, I was 2nd, and Jackie Ellul was 3rd in hers. Mick O'Connor and Paula & Megan Botha also swam, but there seems to have been an issue with Megan's time.

Saturday 20 January was Portsea's Gold 2500m and Classic 1500m swims.

I decided to skip this one after missing an entry in the longer swim, in spite of a free entry from last year. It's a great event, and I'll be back!

1st in the Classic 1500m to Sue, Frank, & Mirjana, and a 2nd for Ros McLean (behind Mirjana). . Rohan Fanning (6th), Mick O'Connor (10th) and Paul Coppin also competed.

Mick also swan the 2500m event.

Well done everyone.

There are lots of swims on offer next Australia Day weekend, so get out there and enjoy our fantastic beaches.
